Milestones And Achievements

  • Ministry of Power, Government of India has awarded the “Gold Shield” to PTCUL for meritorious performance in “Transmission System Availability” for the year 2009-10.
  • Transmission system availability of PTCUL network is more than 99%. PTCUL has handled a peak demand of 1820 MW of the State in Feb, 2014 despite constraint on drawl of power from 400 KV Muzaffarnagar-Puhana line by judicious generation planning by SLDC.
  • Transmission losses in PTCUL network are less than 2% which are one of the lowest in the country.
  • PTCUL has registered a profit of Rs. 9.39 Crores during the FY 2013-14 as compared to profit of Rs. 6.17 Crores for FY 2012-13. Financial institutions have upgraded the credit rating of PTCUL from A to A+ in October 2013.
  • During the worst natural calamity June 2013, PTCUL’s network remained intact and power supply remained uninterrupted in the State. PTCUL did not request for any financial assistance from Government of Uttarakhand for restoration and repair works. All repair and restoration work were carried out with own resources by PTCUL.
  • Construction of 132 KV Pithoragarh S/S (PGCIL) to 132 KV S/S (PTCUL) line was completed and line energized on 30.10.2013 thereby providing alternate source of supply for Kumaon region and improving reliability and voltage profile by 15%. Similarly alternate source of supply created for Garhwal region through 132 KV S/S Srinagar from Chilla-Jwalapur-Kotdwar-Satpuli line.
  • PTCUL is the first State Transmission Utility in the Country which has successfully transferred data in March, 2013 from its 220 KV Sub-station, Roorkee to its 220 KV Sub-station SIDCUL, Haridwar to 400 KV Sub-station, Rishikesh using 104 Protocol on digital PLCCs.
  • PTCUL is the first State Transmission Utility in the Country to undertake an Uttarakhand Integrated Transmission Project (UITP) for evacuation of about 5000 MW power from the up-coming Hydro Project in the State. UITP scheme of PTCUL has been granted Deemed ISTS Status by CERC on 31.01.2013. The UITP scheme is being undertaken with the financial assistance of ADB & PFC.
  • PTCUL has established a state of the art State Load Dispatch Center at Vidyut Bhawan, Near ISBT Crossing, Saharanpur Road, Majra, Dehradun which has became operational from 27.11.2012.
  • PTCUL has introduced SCADA/EMS application in its operations w.e.f. 27.11.2012. Presently 23 sub-stations and HEPs are reporting real time data to SLDC, Dehradun through SCADA/EMS application. PTCUL was able to avert major grid failure in the State in August, 2013 because of introduction of SCADA/EMS application.
  • January, 2014 onward, PTCUL has operational OPGW network between 220 KV Sub-station, SIDCUL, Haridwar and 400 KV Sub-station, Rishikesh for RTU reporting to Control Center.
  • PTCUL has deployed software application for Payroll, Financial Accounting System, Personnel Information System, Employee Provident Fund, General Provident Fund and Management Information System, Material Management System etc.
